It has unquestionably been a difficult time for us all. Working during Covid has been tough and virtually impossible at times. Piano technicians such as myself have had to innovate and adapt their work practices to enable them to become covid safe. Although restrictions are being progressively lifted, and I have received my vaccinations, I still choose to maintain and observe the guidance as set out by experts and the UK government for the foreseeable future.
For my practice, I have adopted a simple yet effective set of protocols that enable me to carry out tunings safely while maintaining social distancing.
Upon arrival, I will be wearing a face mask.
For both of our safety, I ask for and maintain a safe distance from my customers, requesting that once I am at the piano that I am left alone to assess the instrument and begin the tuning process.
I would politely ask that the room (if windows can be opened) is kept ventilated throughout the tuning.
At no stage will I remove my face covering.
Once the tuning/repairs have been completed, I meticulously clean all contact surfaces with antibacterial wipes.
Payment can be made by online bank transfer at the end of the work. I do not accept cash and a receipt will be issued via email.
If any household members have any suspected symptoms, please inform me immediately and we can reschedule the tuning without any cancellation fee.
